Adventure Sessions at Smith Rock

Some places just pull at your heart—and for me, Smith Rock is one of those places.

About 3.5 hours from my home base, this otherworldly landscape has become one of my favorite destinations to photograph love stories, families, senior portraits and those wild, beautiful in-between moments. The towering cliffs, soft desert light, and sweeping views make it feel like you’re stepping into a dream, and the images we create here reflect that magic every time.

I call these Smith Rock Adventure Sessions. They’re for the souls who want a little more. More space, more story, more sky. We hike a little, explore a lot, and take our time as the sun dips low and the golden hour pours over everything.

Adventure Sessions at Smith Rock are available late May through August, when the weather is warm, the light is long, and the high desert feels most alive. It’s worth the drive, worth the investment, and honestly, it’s the kind of experience you’ll never forget.

Whether it’s senior portraits, "I Still Do", maternity, or a family shoot, all sessions are EPIC here and we’ll create something timeless and full of heart in this stunning location.

Two Ways to Shoot at Smith Rock

There are two special ways to book a Smith Rock session with me, depending on the experience you're dreaming of:

1. The Smith Rock Mini Marathon

Once a year, I spend a long weekend in July offering a limited number of back-to-back mini sessions at Smith Rock. These are short, sweet, and wildly popular - perfect for families, couples, and maternity portraits.

Because they fill up fast, I open a waiting list a full year in advance. If you're even thinking about it, hop on the list early to save your spot.

2. A One-Off Adventure Session

If you’re craving a session that feels less like a photoshoot and more like an experience, this is it. A one-off Smith Rock session gives us the freedom to create something truly unique and intimate. We’re not rushed by a tight schedule or shared time slots. It’s just us, the golden light, and the stunning landscape - with time to breathe, wander, and let the moments unfold naturally.
